Road signs. Those traffic signs lining the highways and city streets that inform the driver of things to be aware of and of things to come. Even if a driver is unfamiliar with the road and traffic patterns, these road signs give a degree of security as one travels along the unknown route.
Each of us is traveling the journey of life along an unknown route. Our life experience is filled with twists and turns. Sometimes our journey leads us to the breath-taking beauty of wonderful surprises - a little like following a nature trail only to encounter a magnificent waterfall! Other times our journey leads us to the tar pits of despair - no matter how hard you try to avoid it, you still are effected by it.
In the moments leading up to Christ’s arrest in the Garden, He presented His followers with some “road signs” of future events - those things that were to come. Jesus did this not to scare them, but to bring them comfort and security as they journeyed an unknown route. His words still offer that comfort and security today for His follower.
Today, we will begin encountering Christ’s teaching about the events of the end of the world in what is known as the Olivet Discourse (Matthew 24-25). Hope in the midst of uncertainty! March 21/22, 2009 Program
If you had $1,000,000 (yes, a million dollars) what would you do with it? Would you pay off indebtedness? Would you buy a new house? New car? Would you go to college? Retire? Would you invest it? Seriously, how would you spend it?
Remember the story of the old farmer who was asked the same question, “What would you do if you had a million dollars?” The old farmer thought for a bit and said, “Well, I’d just keep farmin’ and it would be gone soon enough.”
One frequently made comment is something along the lines of, “If I had lots of money, I would give to this charity or help that person out.” Again a question: “How much is “lots of money”? In other words, what is the dollar amount we have to reach before we give? Or better yet, how much is enough?
Poising questions is the easy part. Coming up with answers is difficult. Living according to the answers is painfully difficult. To help us with the answers to life’s questions, God gave us the gift of His word, the Bible. To help us live out those answers, which at times are painfully difficult, God gave us the gift of His wonderful presence, the Holy Spirit.

From the days of Perry Mason to the court room dramas of today, we are familiar with the process of swearing in witnesses as they take the stand to testify. You remember the words, “Do you swear to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, so help you God?”. The response was always the same - “I do”.
Interesting to note is that recent studies have revealed that individuals witnessing the same accident or event will remember things differently. With this information in hand, does this mean that their “truth” is not really the “truth”? How could they swear to tell the “truth” if they don’t know the “truth”? How does one render a verdict if the “truth” is relative to one’s experience?
Taking it even further, if all “truth” is based solely on an individual’s experience, knowledge or feelings, how can society function without tremendous chaos? It would seem that with everyone living out their own subjective truth, there would be no order. Chaos rules the land where everybody does as they see fit.
Today, we will examine the need for absolute truth and how we can formulate “truth” filters that enable us to discern truth in the messages of our culture. Truth is important of our freedom. Jesus has said, “you will know the truth and the truth will set you free.” (John 8:32)

From the ambassador of love to the most cynical of love, everyone has an opinion or viewpoint regarding love. Here are a few words about the subject from the great “philosophers”:

Listener Response
"Thank you for your radio ministry. I have been a Christian about 20 years and have heard John 3:16 many times, but was blessed tonight to hear you preach on that verse. It is good to be reminded of God's great love for us...I needed to hear someone clearly speak the truth of God's word. Thank you for being willing to be that someone."
"Thank you so much for the Biblical teaching."
